Illinois State football wrapped up Spring Camp 2024 on Saturday, as the Redbirds competed in the annual Spring Showcase Scrimmage in front of a great crowd of Redbirds fans enjoying near perfect weather for football. In what proved to be a very exciting contest, it was the Red Team that picked up a 33-21 victory over the Redbird Team at Hancock Stadium.

A long offseason of lifting weights and training and four-plus weeks of spring practice will come to an end when fans have an opportunity to see the new-look Redbirds at the annual Spring Showcase scrimmage on Saturday, April 13, at Hancock Stadium.

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) listed Illinois State outgoing seniors Zack Annexstad, Peyton Asche, Peter Bussone, and Josh Dinga among a record number of members of the 2024 Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football.

The final week of 2024 spring training camp for Illinois State began on Tuesday morning, as the Redbirds were greeted with sunny skies and warm temperatures at Hancock Stadium. The practice is the first of three this week for ISU, before Saturday's annual Spring Showcase Scrimmage at 1 p.m. at the stadium.

A dreary week of practice gave way to sunny skies and warmer temperatures Saturday morning at Hancock Stadium, as the Illinois State football took to the turf for its second intrasquad scrimmage of spring camp 2024. The scrimmage lasted nearly 100 plays, and featured several situational periods that included moving out of end zone, driving the field, a red zone session, an overtime period, and a 2-minute drill.
